Faire Apparel Experience
As a Product Design Lead on the Category Expansion Team at Faire, I worked to build out better shop management and purchase experiences for Apparel Brands and Retailers.

Improving the apparel experience
Problem Statement: How might we improve the shop management systems for apparel brands and simplify the shopping experience for retailers who are selling apparel.
Responsibilities: I was the Product Design lead.
Understand
I was brought onto Faire, a wholesale marketplace, to work on their apparel team to improve the user experience for their apparel brands and retailers. When looking at the apparel experience on the Faire platform, we saw some gaps in what Faire was lacking.
One of the features was Line sheets, which were a commonly requested feature from our apparel brands. A Line sheet is an apparel industry-standard sales tool that brands use to present their products to wholesale buyers. My team saw a big opportunity to grow our apparel business and our GMV by bringing this feature to our platform.
Competitive analysis + User interviews
To begin, my Product Manager and I ran user interviews with a handful of apparel brands on Faire to learn more about their experience on Faire as well as their experience using line sheets on other platforms. We learned about the features they enjoyed on other platforms and what could be improved if we brought the line sheet experience to Faire.
I mapped out the current experience and what the ideal state of the future flow would look like (seen here). I also began a competitive analysis to see what other leading apparel products were doing in this space. After looking through our competitive audit and my to-be journey map, I worked with my PM to make a prioritized list of features and what we thought would be feasible to accomplish in a realistic amount of time.

Explore
Once I felt like I better understood the current and the desired experience, I began to leverage my journey map to build low-fidelity wireframes. I mapped the wireframes to the full user experience and made sure to include the key touch points for apparel brands and retailers.
After sharing the explorations with my team, I took their feedback and applied it to updating the wireframes into high-fidelity mocks. After a few rounds of explorations and feedback, we shared the explorations with brands for feedback and then narrowed in on our final solution.
That would include the ability for:
Brands to:
Create, edit, and delete line sheets
Export a line sheet as a PDF
Share line sheets with retailers via email and messenger
Retailers to:
Message the brand directly to provide feedback on the line sheet
Preview, export, and print a line sheet as a PDF
Easily shop products from the line sheet
